Cassidy Wilson

Social Media Specialist
“Jedno pivo, prosím” means “One beer, please” in Czech. Cassidy learned this essential phrase from her English students in Prague, and it’s a perfect example of succinct communication that brings decisive results. With her degree in writing and education from Marquette, her passion for creative storytelling, and her inventive use of social media platforms to drive B2B, Cassidy is the writer and strategist you want on your side. And she’s always looking for creative opportunities to deliver more with less: “A Roman legionary walks into a bar, holds up two fingers and says, ‘Five beers, please.’”

Rusty Martin

Drupal Developer
“When you can't run, you crawl. And when you can't crawl … you find someone to carry you.” Rusty’s favorite quote from Firefly, the cult-classic space western, says a lot about his work. He’s the one doing the carrying. “I’m a back-end developer for the most part,” he explains. “I don’t do well with the pretties.” Think of it this way: Your beautiful user experience is riding on the back of some very muscular code. Our Drupal space cowboy wrangles that steed, and Crock-Pot Thursday would be a good time to thank him for it.

Hillary Lewandowski

Senior Drupal Developer
She drives a stick shift and loves a good bourbon. Her vegan baked goods are the pride of Crockpot Thursdays. She can solve a Rubik’s cube in less time than it takes to feed her nine pets — a dog, two cats, two parrots and four lizards. Her passion is introducing girls and women to the science, art and fun of a tech career. She says, “As long as you know how to break down a problem into little pieces, you know how to code.” None of this is remarkable in itself. Taken all together, it’s utterly unique. That’s Hillary.

Ryan Mannion

VP/Account Director

As one of Symmetri’s founders, Ryan has done it all. Discovery, strategy, execution for every client. Guidance for every member of the account team. Brand development, messaging and management across every channel. Beer procurement for every celebration. Diaper duty for his adorable twins. Through it all, he’s developed ideas for how to make a difference. Ask him, and you’ll hear, “Make it real!” “Get to know people!” “Be helpful!” “Stand for something!” But you don’t really have to ask – just watch him work and see for yourself.

Adam Hulett

Senior Graphic Designer
When he was a kid, Adam liked to sketch NBA logos. At some point, he realized this was called “design” and it was what he wanted to do when he grew up. Adam’s “full-on passion” for design finds inspiration in his other loves: Hiking and camping. Art and architecture. Music ranging from the Beatles to Metallica. Pinterest, his addictive “wall of wonder.” Like the NBA logos, all these and more feed Adam’s creative imagination. “Creativity can solve almost any problem,” he says, quoting George Lois. “The creative act, the defeat of habit by originality, overcomes everything.”

Tom Smart

Associate Creative Director

Tom fell in love with the written word around the same time he started wrecking things to see how they work. Fortunately, he now limits himself to taking words apart – then throwing out the ones that aren’t working and putting the rest back together better than before. But he never lost his fascination for structure, tools and technology. That’s why he sees B2B marketing as a perfect fit. He gets to explore what engineers and other brilliant people do – then put words to work to help them do it better. All without breaking anything.

Carl Triemstra

Everyone who joins Symmetri discovers on day one that Carl is a passionate guy. You can’t miss his drive, whether he’s cheering on the Michigan Wolverines or his own Symmetri team. Showing photos of his grandchildren or showing a new branding plan to a client. Singing in his choral group or singing out in the office halls, “Make it happen! Move the mouse!” Whatever the pursuit, the important thing is to go all in, all the way. Carl’s passion is infectious, and we’ve all caught it. That’s why we love delivering our best under his remarkable leadership.

Garrett Miller

Front End Web Developer
Garrett likes dogs: He raises them to lead the blind, then takes them back when they retire. Garrett likes thinkers: He plans to name his next dog Chompers after Noam Chomsky. Garret likes cycling: He rode from LA to Moab, then decided to just keep pedaling all the way to the Atlantic. Garrett likes service: He turned that adventure into a fundraiser for a drug rehabilitation center. Garrett likes chess, jazz, history, logic and puzzles. He likes the imagination and creativity of it all, and applies it to front-end development. We like Garrett for that.

Anna Dumitru

Director of Finance + Operations
Anna came to Symmetri to help ease our growing pains, streamline our operations, and foster the efficiency empowers our team to deliver decisive wins for our clients. She lives life in full color, enjoying the arts in all their variety. She has a special affinity for furniture design. She’s a huge fan of freight trains. If you’re offering cake, any kind, she’d love to take a slice or two off your hands. But despite all of her colorful interests, Anna says, “I enjoy working with numbers because they’re black and white. They measure success. They tell stories.”

Shane Sevo

Marketing Director
If Woody Allen, W. H. Auden, Kanye West, and David Hasselhoff met in a bar, Shane would invite them to join his book club in classic Rushmore style. Raised as an only child with never enough Legos, educated as a misplaced engineer, and finding his own in digital media, he’s as surprised as anyone at landing on a marketing career. Shane wages campaigns with the mantra, “Real artists ship,” constantly calling the publish button in his work. A Finnish lumberjack at heart, he’s always planning an escape into the woods of distant lands.

Jared Keonigshofer

Senior Art Director
Jared likes to take it all in. He can point you to great films you’ve never heard of, or out-trivia you on your favorite blockbusters. He’s a stadium food connoisseur. He’s already explored much of the U.S. and Europe, but just getting started. He volunteers his time designing for non-profits he’s passionate about. And he’s constantly honing his skills, from design and illustration to photography and 3D modeling. Because the more of life you take in, the more you have to give back in great work.

Chris Keller

Director of Technology
Chris jokes that he’s the brains of the operation and points to his always-reliable lunch picks as proof. But the real proof is his bottomless appetite to learn more and advance his craft. “Coding standards, process, workflow and building systems around them is something I enjoy very much,” Chris says. “Creating reusable components and building configurable features to extend them just feels right.” His preferred ingredients: “I’m a fanatic Linux distro hopper, and I love open source software, from Arduino to zsh and everything in between.” That’s quite a menu. Curiosity is the secret sauce.

Ann Javier

SEO Manager
CQ + PQ > IQ. In a world where information is readily available, curiosity plus passion outweigh your intelligence quotient. Ann embodies that equation. And she helps others take advantage of it by making information easy to find and use. It’s not just knowing how to choose the optimum keywords. Ann is a terrific writer, content developer and user-experience specialist who makes sure that top search results always lead to meaningful learning. She’s also a climber, traveler, yogi, photographer, epicure and cook. About the only thing Ann can’t do is whistle. Her coworkers are fine with that.

Brad Czerniak

Senior Drupal Developer
“I do one thing, I do it very well, and then I move on.” Brad applies the philosophy of Major Charles Emerson Winchester III from M*A*S*H in all he does, whether it's cutting through support tickets like a wartime surgeon, creating elegant technical architectures or sprinting intervals to improve his race times. A librarian by training and Drupal master by calling, Brad quotes another classic character, Isaac Jaffe from Sports Night, on the need for perspective: “If you’re dumb, surround yourself with smart people. If you’re smart, surround yourself with smart people who disagree with you.”

Amber Max

Senior Digital Marketing Specialist
Princess Amber of Paid Search likes to prank her coworkers. Fortunately, that’s something royalty can get away with here at Symmetri. Like any princess, she’s also extremely cultured. In fact, she holds a degree in communication and culture with a minor in Italian language and culture. Her ambitions for world domination have already taken her from Paris to the Vatican, from the Western Wall to Googleplex. And of course, Chicago. “I really know how to make an impression,” Amber says. “That’s a digital marketing joke.” It’s not very funny, but it’s very true.

David Harrell

Senior Copywriter

A diploma in advanced French from the Université Lumière in Lyon. Degrees in French literature, linguistics and political science from Indiana University. Singer, songwriter, guitarist and bandleader. Runner, traveler, outdoorsman. But no studies in commercial or technical writing: Does that sound like a typical copywriter to you? Well, we’re not interested in typical. We want extraordinary. That means a deep curiosity about the world and a deep facility with putting whatever you learn about it into words. That’s David.

Mark Masseur

Principal, Executive Creative Director

Mark is a designer’s designer. His big-picture concepting and attention to every detail of execution influences virtually everything we create – whether or not he personally touched it. That’s because he’s also a mentor’s mentor. Count on Mark to ask the tough questions that get you thinking deeply about the project’s true aspirations. And your own. If your art and copy can work harder to uncover needs, deliver answers and inspire action, Mark will help you find the way.

Andrea La Torre

Account Manager
“It's not just about delivering on a project. It's about creating an experience.” Andrea always wanted to make art when she grew up, and that’s what she does in her spare time. At Symmetri she does account management for major websites. Project management for “feature sprints.” DrupalCare support management. Sales and new work kickoffs. Invoicing and revenue tracking. She even contributes her eye for design. A meaningful experience has a lot of moving parts. Bringing them into perfect balance is an art in itself, and Andrea is a master.
